The Scott Monument is in the middle between old and new Edinburgh and is the largest monument dedicated to writer in the entire world.  Sarah and I did not do a lot of research leading into our trip, so a few things caught us by surprise and this was one of them.  As we were walking down Princes St. to Old Town Edinburgh, the Scott Monument came out of nowhere and we had no idea what we were looking at.  Good thing we were in an English speaking country and could read all of the historic markers around here.  The monument was built around the Water Scott statue built in 1844.  I thought the location and the monument around the old statue was a perfect transition from new town to old town.

Of all my pictures from this summer, this is the one I enjoy seeing the most.  I’m surprised I did not share this one before 2015 (do you like the small segway into my first 2015 post?).  With all New Year’s Resolutions, I’m trying to figure out how to keep my photography, blogging, and sharing up there.  With our move to Houston, my new job has zapped all my free time and energy outside of Sarah, work, working out, and brewing.  Really brewing and photography have taken such a big back seat to the other 3 things  listed above them.  I’m not sure if I can balance the 5.  I’ve been trying to think how I can squeeze in a bit more of brewing and photography.  My mind is still struggling to wrap around how this can be possible.  I’m starting with some simple posts on here to keep the issue fresh on my mind.  I really want to figure out how to get this to work and I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Happy birthday 2015
